An informative read for any college student - but a must read for any Penn State (or soon to be Penn State) student. This book examines all areas of student life - from clubs and activities, effective time management, long term and short term planning, as well as products and services offered to PSU students, which will lead to achievement both inside and outside of the classroom.
As a current Junior, I wish I would have had this as a resource when I was a freshman. The explanation of specific ways to organize my studies, communications, and helping me view the bigger picture of my time at Penn State is very informative. Only owning this book for a short time, I use it as a reference for many elements - most recently for finding out how to register my bike on campus.
I highly recommend this to any Penn State student, but would classify this as a must have for any new Penn State student. It would make a great high school graduation present for those attending Penn State!
This book provides great advice and helpful hints to navigating the massive Penn State campus in order to fully utilize all of the wonderful services offered to help students succeed. Prior to attending Penn State I had read the Penn State edition of the College Prowler which is written by a company that provides student "advice" for countless schools. Edward Glantz's book A Student Guide to Success at Penn State is more current and more applicable to being successful at Penn State and landing a great job upon graduation. Having all of the important phone numbers and websites in one place is extremely helpful. I really wish I had had this book when I was a freshman! It took me until my senior year to discover all of Penn State's student services and I had to learn all the tips outlined in this book on my own.
